Jessika Malone

Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), Supervised by Shirley Nedock LPC-S, In-person & Telehealth

Welcome! I’m Jessika, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern with Texas State University. I provide a nonjudgmental space where you can express yourself openly and honestly, knowing you will be met with unconditional empathy and understanding regardless of who you are or what you may be going through.

I specialize in supporting individuals and couples at pivotal moments in their lives, particularly around issues of identity, love, and personal transformation. I have extensive experience working with women, teens, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as those navigating religious trauma, relationship transitions, depression, anxiety, substance use, grief, and the effects of incarceration or justice system involvement.

I take a trauma-informed, personalized, and creative approach that draws from a range of evidence-based practices, including Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational-Cultural Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method for couples. This allows me to develop a treatment plan uniquely tailored to meet your needs.

In addition to my work providing mental and emotional health care, I bring two decades of experience as a professional theatre artist and educator. This background profoundly shapes my approach to counseling, infusing it with deep creativity, tenderness, and a commitment to practices of courageous vulnerability, flexibility, openness, and radical self-acceptance. I’m here to help!
